District information about clown sightings

MUSD Community:

The Montebello Unified School District is aware of recent media reports about “Creepy Clown” appearances around the country, and the possible threats they may pose.  Rest assured that the district is monitoring social media websites and news broadcasts, and is working with local law enforcement agencies to address any reports of clown sightings or threats.  Montebello Unified School District Police are conducting extra patrols of the district’s schools, and will continue to investigate reports of suspicious or illegal activity. If you have any questions or concerns please contact your local law enforcement agency or the Montebello Unified School Police. Thank you.

After School Clubs

Dear Macy community:

Permission slips for after school clubs will be available in the Main Office beginning Monday October 3rd. A “late” bus will be available THURSDAYS ONLY and will depart from Lupine Ave. at 4pm. Most clubs have limited capacity and will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. ALL students need to fill out a permission slip (even if they are already attending a Club).

Thank you,

On Friday, September 9, 2016, Macy Intermediate students and staff gathered at the Macy Steps to dedicate a moment of silence to all those who were lost 15 years ago in the attacks on the World Trade Center. Here is an excerpt from Mr. Zavala's speech:

It has now been 15 years since nearly 3,000 beautiful lives were
taken from us.
Today we remember them, their families, who love them forever, and for a nation that has been inspired by your example -- your determination to carry on, your resolve to live lives worthy of their memories.
